Step up to Power Steering with our 17.5 HP PRO XL30 model and you can turn on a dime, even do a full 180° turn, without muscling the machine. A wide, 30" deck cuts mowing time by about 15% versus our PRO models.

If you have larger areas to mow—or if you just want to get the job done faster—move up to our 17.5 HP PRO XL30 model. It features a 30"-wide cutting deck (vs. 26" for our 10.5 HP and 15.5 HP models), so you cover more ground with each pass. The 500cc Briggs and Stratton power plant steps you up to a Professional Series engine, so it will easily handle the extra torque load over the long haul.

Best of all, the 17.5 HP model also includes independent disc brakes on each wheel. You can feather the uphill brake on side slopes to improve the machine's tracking and traction. Plus, the brakes enable you to Power Steer the wider, heavier deck with ease!

• Our disc brake system provides Power Steering. Each wheel is equipped with its own brake, operated by a hand lever. Just squeeze the brake on one side, and the mower will pivot easily around that wheel. You're in control...without wrestling the machine!

• The legendary power, performance and durability of Briggs & Stratton® engines make them the obvious choice for our Walk-Behind Field and Brush Mowers. The PRO MAX34 22 HP model features a Briggs Intek Series OHV engine, with full-pressure oil pump (great for positive lubrication even on side slopes), a spin-off oil filter, 724 cc of displacement, (two) cast-iron cylinder sleeves, plus easy, turn-key electric-starting.

• The legendary power, performance and durability of Briggs & Stratton® engines make them a great choice for the PRO XL30 models. The PRO XL30 17.5 HP model features a Briggs EX Series™ OHV engine, with full-pressure oil pump (great for positive lubrication even on side slopes), a spin-off oil filter, 500 cc of displacement, cast-iron cylinder sleeve, and easy, turn-key electric-starting.

• Assembled in the USA using foreign and domestic parts. Ships direct from our Wisconsin factory.

• The 30" deck is wide enough for fast field clearing, but is still very maneuverable. Unlike rigid, fixed decks found on some mowers, the DR deck pivots from side to side, allowing it to follow the contours of rough terrain. This feature minimizes scalping and improves traction.

• Our decks are enclosed on 3 sides, so that cut material is chopped and re-chopped, reducing grass and brush to a fine mulch. This means less material is left behind in your field, and none of the windrows you get with side-discharging mowers.

• Unlike hydrostatic drives, the DR's geared transmission lets you lock in your ground speed, leaving your hands free to steer the machine across uneven terrain (instead of fussing with touchy throttle controls as you go). With 3 forward gears, you can choose a fixed pace that's right for you.

• No other brush mower has tires like this. They're the biggest (18" x 6.5" x 8"), they have superior lugged treads that pull the mower through or over just about anything, and they are sealant filled...which means they're highly resistant to puncture. Tough as nails, apparently!
